Everyone
- Take steps every day to reduce your carbon footprint and support sustainability efforts at Cornell.
Students
- Explore public service and community engagement opportunities in service of people, places, and the planet.
- Expand your sense of the world by exploring global learning opportunities.
- Further your sense of belonging by joining a supportive student organization and/or exploring the Centers for Student Equity, Empowerment, and Belonging.
- Nurture your spirit by and connect with others who are seeking to make meaning of themselves and the world.
- Reach out for support (for yourself or a friend) when you need it by contacting Student Support and Advocacy Services.
- Sign up via Qualtrics to receive the monthly Health Promoting Campus newsletter.
- Learn to become an active bystander and Intervene when you see something that negatively impacts a peer.
- Encourage sharing of information about health-promoting events and initiatives via this Qualtrics form.
Staff & Faculty
Supporting staff & faculty wellbeing
- Contribute to a psychologically healthy workplace and if a manager, set, hire, and communicate your related expectations and role model reasonable work/life boundaries.
- Stay informed by reviewing the Employee Wellbeing at Cornell Update and promote wellbeing resources to colleagues during key transitional times (onboarding, start of classes, welcoming a child to the family, etc.).
- Recognize others by expressing appreciation and nominating deserving colleagues / teams for a university award.
- Listen to and share the Cornell Inclusive Excellence Podcast.
- Participate in and/or become a guide for the Let's Meditate mindfulness meditation program.
- Give to the Employee Emergency CARE Fund (financially or through volunteerism) to help colleagues in crisis.
- Become a sustainability champion.
- Consider joining a Colleague Network Group (CNG) or creating/joining a Workforce Affinity Group (WAG) to foster community and expand your connections at Cornell.
- Share your programs, research, and initiatives via this Qualtrics form.
- Respond to Employee Experience surveys and share feedback with appropriate offices/individuals.
Supporting student wellbeing
- Add a syllabus statement that acknowledges the importance of mental health and includes campus resources.
- Learn more about Cornell's student Mental Health Review and its recommendations.
- Implement some of the W.I.S.E. Initiative best practices in the classroom, during advising sessions, or when mentoring students.
- Sign up via Qualtrics to receive the monthly Health Promoting Campus newsletter and share ideas with students.
